PODM -Tangeled Release
It was bad at Walt Disney World, luckilly not as bad as it has been reported at Disneyland. I only ended up with 21.

Only 21 Tangled pins??? That is EXCESSIVE
I find it hard to believe you were buying that many for friends, & I think you would have stated that, but it still is over the top!
I agree w the "run away & never return" admonition...

You got 21 pins! The person picking mine up didn't mange to get me 1! How on earth did you get 21 of them and more to the point, why do you need 21 of them? Unless you are after some trading here but still 21 is a lot of pins. You have the ability to make a lot of people happy here!

I have had this same experience a couple times last year when there were good and bad scenes. People yelling at cast members is just not cool. There is absolutely no cause for it. They are just doing their job and doing what they are told to do. A lot of cast members I have talked to hate these pins because of the craziness that comes with them.

I was talking with a friend last night about the DLR crowds and she thought they should put the pins in black bags (like the mystery pins). No one would know what they were getting until they open up the pouch and the pins would not be returnable. The lines would sure go a lot faster.

HAHA! We were talking about that exact same thing at the park yesterday also! I think it would be a great idea now that there are really no crummy scenes....

If they do that they will raise the price of these pins to at least $29.95 to cover their costs.

+1. and i just wish there was a way to ensure that even with multiple locations, everyone could only get 2 max, unless and until everyone who wanted one had a chance to get at least 1 for their collection, and then people could get more. kind of like how they did with the alice event pins. but that also involved the wristband. maybe we need to do that for these releases. :dunno:

She was at WDW. Not that anyone needs 21... All of us here in California are frustrated about the fact that WDW still had them sitting on shelves late in the day.

On another note I think we should send some constructive ideas to disney about how to control the mass insanity for these releases at DLR.
  • Toontown: use those rails on the hill as a line for people to settle into before the store opens.
  • Westward Ho, Little green men, and toontown: vouchers or wristbands to stop people from holding spots for their buddies.
  • Increase the number of pins comeing to DLR. perhaps make it even? I think half the reason DLR gets nuts is because we know there are fewer here.
  • sell at more locations. New Orleans square, the store by little mermaid in DCA, the shop in critter country, Off the Page in Hollywood backlot... If they spread them out, the rush wont be so intense, people wont be able to "clean out" the shops so easy, and more people will have a chance to pick up one or two. Even if it is just 1 pack per location, it will still reduce the "pin hogs" haul.

we need to remember, if we only complain... They may just stop listening. But if we offer solutions, things could improve. Any other ideas? And what person do we send comments to? does anyone know who at disney to contact?

What they will probably do as they have done in the past is up the LE size if they decide to continue this series next year. This is what happened with the DLR Piece of Disney History pin series. It went from LE 1000 to LE 2000. If they go this route we can probably expect an LE size of 4000.

As i have suggested this in the past i would agree with you totally! 100% agreement!

honestly, i wouldn't care if these were higher LE size, i think they're beautiful, and that's the only reason I collect them. They could be open edition and I'd still buy them. Maybe that would lower the demand a bit...? LOL

Many of the places you have said - do in fact carry these pins and only get 1 or 2 bags so it doesnt really help relieve anything . . . .

Ok so I also had a disapointing day. I was in line at a couple of different places when they ran out . . . but no drama for me. I did see one guy yelling at a cm in store comand about why we couldn't see more. But the cm I had was wonderful and actually gave me my best scenes of the day! Of which one was the gondala zoomed out a bit w their profles - but then when i looked at it later it was missing the pin back and the post was bent almost all the way down!!!!! I was super sad - i kept it because by then they were sold out - and i slowly and carefully bent it back - luckily it is ok now - but i have never seen that on a pomh pin.

I think this release was so crazy because it was tangled. I have NEVER seen so many people for the pomh release - so i really think that this was just because it was tangled. I can imagine that "UP" will be the same way but other than that the releases should return to normal . . . .

I got pretty lucky. I went to DTD pin shop at 7am and left at almost 10am with 2 decent scenes. I hopped on the monorail to DL and got 2 at the shop in toontown. There were 6 in there! The lady at the register said that there was no limit, but I only bought two, because a lady behind me was on a mission to get them as well, and I was just trying to obey the 2 limit rule.

On the bright side, I definitely got a workout running here and there!! :)

That was nice of you. What scenes were you able to get?

I suspect the reason DLR doesn't do online wristbands for these is because it is a shared release. I'm sure they'd love to given the craziness in the parks (not to mention the parking lot; almost got into a car accident this time because some lady decided she could just cut everyone off instead of waiting her turn at the toll booth). They actually have a great system for selling candy canes at Christmas time that limits them to 2 per guest per day. I would love to see something similar or the return of online wristbands. Otherwise I can imagine an Up release being total chaos.

So, you all think it's ok to tell a member to run away and never return? Did you ever think they were getting pins for people on this board? As, of noon today WDW still had Tangled pins because they held some back for the artist signing today. I got more than my 2 because I was getting pins for members of DPF. I won't say how many I ended up with though.

Agreed. There's no reason to bash another member because they got 21. I'm sure if they were the ones that ended up with 21 they would be flying high, yes? I don't see a problem with obtaining more than 2.

I'm still trying to get more Tangled pins because some members have inquired in them. All you have to do is nicely ask and I'll do the best I can for anyone on this forum.

The problem I have with this statement is that you're saying you ONLY ended up with 21. As if 21 isn't enough.

Honestly, I think you've only revealed this in order to provoke a reaction.

Hence my comment :) It's not right to tell someone to run away at all!
Always take the positive side, you never know what could have happened. The "only" could be sarcasm and they've won the lottery and decided to ZAP a load of us with a pin for all we know! Although I doubt its that I'll always assume that someone got them for good reasons :) I was just curious how some people got 21 and others none at all.

If the person with 21 has any for sale/trade then I'm interested in getting one!
