Shipping International for first time -- HELP PLEASE!

Hi everyone! I have a trade in the works. I've never mailed internationally before.

I marked it as a gift. Do I need to include a HS code (for tariff/ customs)? Also, if I included candy, do I need to declare that, too?

I just go into the post office and fill the little customs form, put it as Disney pins and gift and send it on its way. Candy isn't seeds, fruits or veggies or perishables so I don't think you need to put that on the customs forms. I usually go to the PO and fill the little paper out in person. All mine have made it to their new international homes without issues.

I used to work in shipping. Put EVERYTHING you are sending on the custom form. You can list everything as a gift.

What country is it being sent to? Keep in mind if you are sending it as a gift to the U.K. Try not let the total value end up more the £34 or they will have to pay an additional to receive it...

My mom was just telling me to mention that too, some countries will make the receiver pay extra to receive over a particular value.

Unless the receiver wants insurance on whatever you are sending them, always list the value as $20 or under. You both get around fees then.
