Thank you guys! Well I was told over the phone that I am getting the $3hundred-some back!
Just gotta check the mailbox to see if it came since I've been out of town for 10 days. Hoping they actually come through! But the best news is that I do not owe them $2,500!

Had to cancel my mom's plane ticket because she was admitted to the hospital with pacreatitis(sp?) and it cost me $450 on my cc to change her ticket. Not really liking American Airlines right now.
