The Allred/Smyrak Counterfeit Pin Court Case
i have not for got...if u read all my post... i also tell ppl that there was a girlfriend helping. i only even pulled the info up for any and all ppl that think ebay lots are ok... But mayb i should not care and let ppl buy crap and throw there money away. I just wanted to help.. I wish sumone had helpped my family. we learned the hard way..

ppl look at the guys first cuz they were the masterminds. yes she was a big help. But it was bob that ran the show...or so said the fbi..

Actually -if you read the articles - Cindy Pratt was found to be independent. Her case is completely separated from the others (different case number too). She was found to be running her own operation as she still is on Ebay (the only one of the 3 that is still selling). Otherwise, she would have been included with the others.

As an aside -if you have read the filings, which are public. Pratt/Frasier (married name) was caught by Customs first. She then pointed the finger at Smyrak & Allred. I am not sure she was girlfriend as her report mentions she is married (granted I know that can mean lots of things).

Also, the only reason Allred is remaining in jail is because of his priors. It is not because of the counterfiet incident -as originally he was released, and then remanded for higher bail by the DA.

Please ask if you have any questions. As, I work in law -I have access to the case filings, and would prefer proper/correct information is out there. Hope this helps.

sweet. glad we get the real info. sorry if i do not tell everything in every post i make. I have just pointed ppl to were they can find the info. I did read the things i could find. that is why i said there was a GF. Thats what it said when i read it. also talked about that bob was the the boss and that he was a x-cm. CMs have also told me that he would come look at there pins and trade for new things to ship off and have faked. Larry was his partner in crime or so the things i read told us. Hey can u get us info on the rape charge and how long he got.

PS. if u know she is still breaking the law... why dont u turn her in...seems like a slam dunk.. when ur already being charge for the same crap. just wonder..since u seem to care about the info being just right...i have not keep up with it.. just pulled it up for sum ppl that asked were to start looking

So, out of these 3 people .... what happened to who?

I have not been following this properly, but I have recently got curious.

Does anybody have more info? I checked the court case with the number and all but still ...

Did Smyrak get jail or probation?

I also checked court records for Cynthia Pratt. All I could find was traffic violations, no mention of counterfeit manufacturing though.

Answering my own question .... her correct last name is Vedder actually and found not guilty on 06/01/2011.

Case Number: 11NF1478

Actually, her plea is not guilty. You need to go further and look at the "hearing" tab. She was arraigned on 6/1, pled not guilty, released on her own recognizance. There is a pre-trial hearing set for 4/13/12. Bail of $20,000 was originally set and posted but exonerated on 7/8/11 (that's why she's released on her own recognizance).

I am still following up with this Cynthia Pratt Vedder. Looks like after the hearing on 04/13, there is one more on 05/18.

I never knew it was really this large of a case. I knew about the two guys and that they had about 2 million in pins, but I never knew there was a woman too. I'm really interested in how this ends and what Disney is going to do about it.

Does anyone have a picture of her? I'm curious now as to whether or not I've ever bumped into her. This is very interesting. Please keep us posted!

Is it ACTUALLY $2,000,000 in pins, or is Disney trying to say that the 100,000 pins they had in their possession (which were all counterfeit, low end hidden mickeys that we spot everywhere) were worth $20 a piece. I'd be curious to know how they came up with the figure of $2,000,000.

Obviously, if they sold pins that were traded for authentic Hidden Mickeys, I could see Disney assigning them a 'value' of $5 per pin, as that's what Disney sells Hidden Mickeys for, and Disney was receiving fake pins for their authentic ones. Are they getting the value based on the number of pins they had already sold (probably fairly easy to verify by talking to eBay).

By the way, I am not advocating what they did. I hate counterfeits, and I hate that I still have a hundred of them that I bought on eBay before I knew what a counterfeit was. I just really want to know where the $2,000,000 value came from.

Smyrak, Robert Edward so all this guy got was 1 year in jail, 3 years probation, and restitution, I wonder how they will enforce that. Let's hope *Defendant: Allred, Larry James gets a sentence that makes it so that others will be afraid of doing this. I tell you, we just started trading and scrappers are very discouraging.

There is a seller currently on Ebay as [h=1]magical.beginnings[/h]
If you look at their item 220957848946 I believe you can tell from the second picture that they are selling scrappers. If I am wrong, then I will take a jumbo slice if humble pie. But I have learned much about scrappers recently and found MANY in my collection which I received from CM's.

My collection is based on buying one or two 7 pin sets at the park each week since I moved back to SoCal in July 2010, and trading with CM's constantly, and when I get something good off to the barrels I go to try to get something I really want.

Perhaps I should take all my receipts to City Hall with my scrappers and ask for an exchange...

seriously, how can eBay be this stupid???

1000 pins (47 times) $499= $23,453 for 47,000 pins
500 pins (36 times) $289= $10,404 for 18,000 pins
250 pins (27 time) $159= $4,293 for 6,750 pins
100 pins (511 times) $65= $33,215 for 51,100 pins

For a grand total of $71,365 for 122,850 pins. SINCE DECEMBER.

How on earth can eBay be so stupid as to not realize that there is no way that one person could have 125,000 authentic pins, and who's selling them for 1/5 of their value? That's 125,000 scrappers that have been released into the parks over the last 5 months, from ONE seller. And he's not the only one. We all need to report these people. Maybe we should have an anti-scrapper day where all of us figure out who's selling these scrappers, and then we all report them over a period of time. It could be a start.
