WDW and PODM questions

Hey guys,

I'm going to WDW in October and I have a few questions. Firstly is there always a PTN the month before which reviews all the pins that are coming out the month after so I should look out for one in Septmeber so I can see what I can get?

Then I see that PODM pins are announced a couple of months ahead but when do they come out exactly? It always seems to be the last Thursday of the month, is this a general rule? Also where in WDW are they available and how quickly do they sell out (guessing there's 1000 at WDW)?

There isn't always a PTN monthly, they've been kind of quarterly, but check odpt.com for the dates of the PTN's closer to your trip. They usually preview new pins at the PTN's.

As for the PODM pins they are located at: Animal Kingdom - Island Mercantile
Magic Kingdom - Frontierland Traders
Epcot - Pin Central
Disney's Hollywood Studios aka MGM - The Hat
Downtown Disney - Pin Central

Ah thanks for your help. I'm guessing 200 in each store then? How quickly do they sell out?

that depends on scenes and characters, when the first ones were released last year they lasted for over a week, now that the series is so popular and the sharks on the bay<and I dont mean Tampa> got wind of how popular they are going much quicker, Line for Aladdin was 30 deep within 5 minutes of opening at DTD, so at 2 each, thats 65 to 70 of the 200 alottment for that shop or 1/3 in under an hour,

However there is some discrepancey <sp> about the number of pins per coast<some say its 1500 for WDW and 500 for DLR some say its 50/50 split depends on which rumor you trust>

So you want a good scene, its Disney so follow the Walt toe step dance rules

Step One, --Arrive early
Step Two ---Wait in line


Result= Like everything else in Disney a little magic !!!

Ok thanks my mum doesn't like a lot of the rides so maybe she'll queue with me if I ask super nicely!

I was wondering this info too because I want to get the Little Mermaid PODM Pin in June. But when the Downtown Disney Pin Store opens is it like a mad rush to the pins or do they let whoever is first in line pick their 2 (if they want 2) then the next person in line, then the next person, etc? And are the PODM pins just out on a rack or are they behind the counter with a CM?

Order is maintained at DTD so arrive early and do the Walt two step, as for the pins they are behind the counter and passed from one to the next at the counter<sometimes a few back but remember they only have limited staff to, so patience is a virtue!!>and no one is allowed to walk away from the counter with any so its a serve in line situation. On the whole the experience and the staff are well organzied there, from some of the horror stories from others in other venues it could be much worse...
