Happy New Year everyone! May 2020 be filled with magic, health and happiness for our community.

My pin resolutions is to let go of my traders. I need to focus on my collections (and my guys' collections) so no more buying/trading for pins because they catch my eye.

I feel some major ZAPping happening in 2020!!!

Happy new year all! I'm slimming down my collections to only the ones that really mean a lot to me(Marie Kondo type thing) so I'll no longer be collecting Cheshire and a few others I only had a few pins for.
I'm keeping the pins I do have for those collections but I'm not gonna seek out any more. I'm also going to try and slow down a little on impulse buying pins as well as grow my traders a little bit so I have better pins to trade for other big pins because I've never had the pins to trade for DSSH/WDI level pins in the past.

Happy New Year everyone!

Agree with @akarih, I will also be focusing in on my collections. Buying/trading for only pins I love.

Agree with @CCofRR13, improving my ability to let go of traders (I have too many), to gain the pins I really want for my collection.

I should probably add: stop buying discounted pins to have good park traders (I also have plenty of these... at least for now)... but when I find a pin for under $3... I am not sure I will be able to stop myself in 2020. So a resolution here would probably set me up for failure.

One of my resolutions is to engage with the DPF community more. I sort of dropped off a lot for most of last year. It was tough to balance building an online presence on Facebook and Instagram, but I’ve grown to dislike the latter especially.

I’m trying to be more mindful about how my environment affects me and trying to enrich it by surrounding myself and engaging with people who give off positive vibes. I’ve not had one negative interaction here, which is why I think I should work my way to engaging on here more.

I hope to also travel to other pin meets in new locations. I’m definitely going to try to go to a few Bay Area pin meets throughout the year, and hope to make 1 stop in either New Jersey and New York if it works out when I’m visiting the boyfriend’s family. I also hope to visit Paris again this year and make it a point to visit DLP.

Oh, and definitely go to the 2020 Florida event. I have too many traders that I think I need to go.

I do this too! It is so tempting to have extra park traders, even though we don't go as often as we
should. That is part of the reason I am trading my Countdown to the Millennium pins for park
traders, because I can't make myself trade them in the parks. So now I have even more park
traders.

As far as resolutions, not spending money would be nice. But then ... squirrel! ... look at that pretty
Aristocats pin.

My goal is also to downsize my collections. And I culled my wants list on PinPics quite a bit; got it down to just over 100 pins I *really* want, so I’m going to focus on those. Most of them are expensive or HTF, so I doubt I’ll be getting a lot of new pins this year!

I also plan to do some zapping (at least one a month!) and participate in every RAK attack, like I did this year. The RAK attack I received a few years ago when my brother died meant the world to me, and I aim to pay it forward whenever possible.

Only 100 wants?! Let me go look, I'll keep an eye out!

I would really like to trade more this year.

Otherwise, my resolution is the same as it's been the last 3 years. Get my darn pin (and more) collectibles website in a state where I can actually, like share it with people. But it's technically complicated, and I'm not technically strong enough, so it's been slow going. It's really created quite a mess in terms of the rest of my pin collecting hobby. I want to take pictures of everything I've bought directly from Disney so they've been just accumulating, and it's less fun collecting stuff to sit in various boxes that are taking over everything than putting things in frames/on boards and hanging on the way. It's made me question if I do, in fact, "have too many pins?"

Hahaha. Perfect image... We can both be Dugs with our pins. :)

Ditto. I have framed sets I haven't hung up yet (probably 15-20), tons of pins in boxes that haven't been organized into specific bags, bulging bags of pins, and almost empty bags that I'm supposed to be putting pins in. That's just pins. Then I have dolls, figures, mugs, etc. Every drawer in the house is stuffed with "junk".... :p

Happy New Year everyone! My resolution this year is to focus more in on certain categories of my collection and to grow my relatively small number of pins in a thoughtful way. (Which will never happen since I'm just in the cycle of "ohhhhhh, that's cute" and when I actually see a pin in the stores at a decent price I can't resist purchasing as we don't get many pins up here.)

I'd love to be more generous in the new year too, because it's such a magical thing to give! Perhaps this year I will join in on the RaK!

I don’t usually make a resolution. But seeing everyone else’s, I think mine will be keeping an eye out for pin sales and trading opportunities to get lots of pins to grow my collections. :D

While I would love to find even one of my four missing Wonderland pins in 2020, more realistically I'd just like to keep up on everything Wonderland that comes out this year, so by the end of the year my wants list is no bigger than those four (and if I find one of the four and can make my wants list smaller - huzzah!)

On the Marvel side, well... for lack of anything else to trade for, my Marvel collection kind of exploded. lol My three main sub-collections are: Loki (have pretty much everything I wanted that's been released), Skottie Young (still will trade for any of these that I don't have as I LOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEE these pins), and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout (complete to date).

The problem is that I've been trading for anything Marvel that I like that's movie-related especially and I can't quite figure out what I want this part of the collection to be - symbols & icons only or nice character pins, too, and if so, which ones? Hence, the 'trading for almost everything just 'cause I like it and will figure it out later'. So my goal is to figure out what the rest of that Marvel movie collection is going to be and stay focused. Problem is - I just don't know how to collect without being a completist and I don't want to be a Marvel completist, except maybe on Skotties (which is doable give or take the chasers) and Guardians MBO pins which I'm currently complete on and should be easy to keep up with. So trying to be selective is... challenging.

My resolution is to not feel like I have to buy everything right now even if it is a “good deal.” I’d also like to find some of my older three good fairies grails that lately seem impossible.
I felt that so deeply, I keep seeing great deals and realizing I don't need them even if they are cheap.

Last year, I was very successful with downsizing collections, focusing on specific ones, building my daughter’s and wife’s, and not making the mistake that I have been making since I started collecting: buying pins that I think will make a good trader and then getting stuck with it when they weren’t.

This year, my pin resolution will be more about individual pin goals since that will help me stay focused and not overspend.

So here are my pin goals for 2020 (in no specific order):

1) Be my Villaintine Gaston
2) Either ENG cast jumbo or villains spinner
3) Acquire any new Mr. Toad pins to stay complete
4) Help my wife work on her Clarice collection
5) WDI Dancing Ariel and Eric
6) Acquire Mr. Toad statue, either the D23 one or Room for one More
7) Work on my Fathers collection
8) Lofty goal: obtain one of the following: TLM BT, Ariel designer, or Gomes Ariel
9) Lofty goal: obtain BATB cast jumbo
10) Turn more Toad scrappers into magnets
