I absolutely adore their costumes. The faces...kinda creepy. The costumes are beautiful. The prices they went for...super insane. But those costumes I LOVE!! ;)
Who made them? Also...I'm more curious to know who has $21,000 to just drop on a doll. I wanna be friends with him/her. ;)

Thanks for sharing! I was just talking to my sister the other day about ball-jointed dolls and was shocked that basic ones are usually $400-600. If they were more affordable, I would spring for one in a heartbeat. ;) I'm absolutely loving that Rapunzel's dress!! It has a very elegant, romantic feel to it.

I've seen those type of dolls before and they are always super expensive. But they will have editions sizes of like 20 or 10. They are super unique and the artist who create them just put so much detail into everything. I think they are amazing!

Hmm, I think Rapunzel's face is just plain ugly, and it's weird that Jack has a normal head. Costumes are AMAZING though, as well as Rapunzel's hair.
I especially adore their shoes!

At first I thought Rapunzel was creepy, but after staring at her, she is beautiful. Jack is awesome. I see, they are like those ball jointed gothic dolls from Korea that are super expensive.

Not planning on getting any ball jointed dolls in the near future but if anyone could make that jack skellington set for a 12 inch figure I would buy it in a heartbeat!

The outfits are impeccably beautiful! Yeah, ball-joint-dolls (BJDs) are incredibly expensive dolls and are often quite big. I've been looking at the clothes that have been made for BJDs for years with fantasy-themed dolls and I just drool with the level of detail and craftsmanship that are put into them. They are totally worth the high costs (but, no, I do not own any)!

THIS. I've actually been watching that Rapunzel auction very carefully. The artistry that goes into these dolls is insane and wonderful and just gorgeous. I do own a BJD that I saved for a whole year for and she is totally something that is irreplaceable and so precious to me. The Rapunzel outfit has definitely inspired me and I will probably take a stab at recreating that dress for my own doll... Gorgeous!!

Gawd this Rapunzel is a beauty!! I collect BJDs but only in the tiny size (height between 4.4" to 25") which are more affordable than the large ones. But this large Rapunzel BJD would definitely have a room in my collection if she was much much cheaper!! ^_^;

I've never understood why BJDs/Dollfies are so expensive. I do love that Rapunzel for her outfit and wig though. So pretty. But I also could see someone who is good at ooak customizing creating something similar because the fabrics are not really "Disney exclusive prints". If that made any sense to you at all. I guess I'm saying if you own a BJD you could make a very close to this Rapunzel of your own if you are good at it.

Not only are they Volks dolls, but they are highly desired Volks sculpts. Which makes them even more insanely valuable! One-offs are always very desired by any BJD aficionado. I have always wanted a Volks doll, but I just can't afford it. I have 5 BJDs, three from Korea and two from China. The only Japanese company that I trust and know of is Volks, and they are the father of all BJD companies. Unfortunately their prices are just a little out of my reach! (Okay a lot!). Most BJD aren't THIS expensive though haha.

I saw them both in person. They were displayed in the Japan Disney store at Msihama station. Not a fan of dolls... Give me nightmares....but the details on these were amazing up close
