So, I am just getting back into pin trading after a long hiatus. When I was into it before, I focused on getting my collection pieces and enjoyed casual trading at PTN's and with CM's at the park. Nowadays, I work every day except Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning I don't get to go to pin releases or PTN's or really any other fun events anymore. When I do make it to the park, the LE pins that I wanted are gone. I think this forum is fantastic and have had amazing experiences already trading, and purchasing pins! I would love to be able to compete with some of these amazing pins I see going up for auction and being bid in auctions, and to trade in the big leagues, but I can't just go out and spend a couple grand on building my traders. Does anyone have any tips, advice, words of wisdom, etc. on how to go about building a trade collection worthy of these forums? Thanks for any and all input :hatbox:

Good luck, it is definitely not easy building up a collection of decent trader pins when you do not have a lot of money. You will find however that people will work out multi-pin trades and such with you, most everyone understands the difficulties of building up traders and try to work out trades with us anyway! :D

Best advice I ever got from a pin trader was at the first pin trading event I went to...when I asked if they had any advice for someone like me who was just starting up was:

"have a lot of disposable income...and if you don't? Stop now"

lol but really, the best advice I could give is to just keep an eye out for deals. Dsf pins as of late seem to be dropping in prices rapidly and I have come across some great sets at great prices on both eBay and on the forums. Fair warning: It takes time and a lot of checking (I check eBay at least 4-6 times a day, and the sales forum on here at least twice a day)

Agree with previous posts. I've only been doing this since last August, but my collection is pretty significant now between keeps and traders (relatively speaking - of course there are countless people here that blow me away). It is an extremely expensive hobby and 'disposable income' was the right term that kba41510 used.
