I am new to pin collecting. Last year when we went to Disney, walking thru the park that is all I heard about & seen so many people looking at the workers pins that I found myself asking what all the hoopla with the pins was, so I came home & researched a bit & was hooked. Atm I only have 6 but will be going to Disney in a lil less than 2 months & will be doing some buying & trading then. I am getting excited about it because I have seen so many that I like & I am looking forward to hopefully getting some Halloween ones since that is when we are going. I find myself always looking at pins online & I see so many that I love but there are so many to choose from I seem to get confused on what I really want lol. I look forward to the forums & all information I can gather before our trip to Disney =)

Aloha and Welcome! :wavey:

You're going to have so much fun when you visit Disney - especially at Halloween. Be sure to get tickets for one of the Halloween parties, those always are fun. Pins, candy, and parade/fireworks - can a night get any better?

I'd also recommend selecting a theme/character (or maybe a few, depending upon your choices) to collect - if you haven't already done so, that is. That way, you can expand your collection but still keep it under control (that's the one thing I wish someone had told me when I started collecting ... other than run away before you start  ). Even limiting your collection, you'll still be amazed at how quickly your collection grows, but at least it'll be under control and you'll keep your bank account intact.

Welcome! And if you buy pins to trade from ebay be very careful, there are lots of fakes (called scrappers) out there.

HI and welcome!! I'm originally from Maryland!! :0)

And exactly what Dancecats said. LOL. I wish I had narrowed my focus early because it was so easy to branch into all kinds of things and before I knew it, I had an out of control collection.

Have a great time at the parks!!

Welcome, welcome, welcome! What kinds of pins are you finding yourself drawn to now? Or, any idea on what you want to collect?

I'm getting ready to move to Maryland myself, so glad to see more DPF'ers in MD! :wiggle:
