Purchasing pins on Amazon?

I was given a gift card to Amazon.com for Christmas, and as I was browsing the site, I saw that they sell pin lots. Does anyone have experience purchasing pin lots from Amazon? Are they legit pins, or scrappers? Thanks!

Never bought any on Amazon. Most of the pin lots on ebay are scrappers. Especially if they are large pin lots or the seller keeps selling lots.

I never buy pin lots. They're too shady imo, especially if they're "random" or when the seller has loads of them listed. It's possible that some sellers have legit pin lots, but most of them seem too good to be true for the low prices and I walk away if it's too good to be true.

I just went and looked at them and they look like the same lots that are on ebay. I would guess most are scrappers. Especially when they don't say they are not and "they are tradable at all parks" that is a red flag every time.

My husband, with the best of intentions, bought a lot of 100 pins from Amazon for me for Christmas. As expected, they were all scrappers or counterfeits. Not only did they look and feel "cheap," but virtually all of the pins had typos on the back (one "Poo" pin had several!). Needless to say, we returned them and got a refund, and Amazon is investigating the seller. I would recommend staying away from the pin lots on Amazon.

My wife bought me some pins (not lots) from amazon and some of those were scrappers also.

From what i am seeing, basically the amazon pin sellers are the same ones doing the scrap lots on ebay. For me this is a shocker. Because I thought amazon was kind of a legit retailer, not a website where ANYONE could sell whatever they felt like. When did Amazon become the new ebay?

Hello fellow New Englander. Man that sucks. Its good you were able to return them and get a refund.

I did have a little difficulty with the return. The seller insisted that she described the pins accurately and refused to issue a prepaid label, but in the end, Amazon credited me for the return postage and the seller issued a full refund.

I tend to avoid pin lots, unless purchased from a trusted member of DPF! I also tend to find pins to be cheaper on eBay for single ones

Amazon the company is a legit retailer HOWEVER anyone can sell something on amazon. Amazon market doesnt always have great stuff on it because it is like craigslist. It can be a hit or miss.

I feel like the only time lots are legit is when they show you EXACTLY what you are going to get. All those with the same stock picture are pretty much scrappers.
