1. What are the three most beautiful pins you have seen in person?
2. What makes each beautiful to you?

NOTE:
I’m asking about beautiful pins here, not favorite pins.
I’m asking about pins you’ve seen in person, not images of pins.
  • Beautiful, not favorite, because favorites may be based on sentimental attachment to a particular character, collection, or memory rather than beauty.
  • In person, not online, because images can look either better or worse than the actual pin.

Here are my three:

Pin 36939: Disney Auctions - Art Nouveau Jumbo Pin (Ariel)

The pin manages to be bold and graceful and finely detailed, all at once: the vibrant primary colors, the movement in Ariel’s hair and tail and body line that mimics the movement in the waves, the fine black lines that make the details stand out rather than get lost as details do in other pins, the large size. It's simply gorgeous.

----------

Pin 42382: Disney Auctions - Elisabete Gomes Signed Set (Alice with Flowers)

There’s something beautifully subtle and soft about the details and coloring of this pin. The fine detail of the flowers in non-primary colors gently frame Alice, and the lime-green background on the top half of the pin is particularly pleasing, allowing the details and softer colors of the upper flowers to stand out.

----------

Pin 9455: Evil Queen - Brenda White Collection

This pin takes no prisoners: it’s clean, strong, and deceptively simple. The bold primary colors (vivid blue background, crisp white collar, and saturated gold crown) are emphasized by the high gloss of the glass cloisonne. The single image of Maleficent front and center, with no distracting details, is reinforced by the convex surface, so she seems to push out toward the viewer--aggressive, strong. The geometrically pure roundness of the pin is also beautiful to me.

Come to think of it I've seen many in the past i would say my three are the following
Please note that two I've had in the past in my collection,

Hands down the best Haunted mansion pin i ever saw better looking then the Dangle and Gracey fireplace

Alot of the old DA pins have such nice look too it but this one I thought stand out with such beauty.

Still have this one I think most would know why i say this,

I think the most beautiful pin I have ever seen is this one:

Pin 39958: Disney Auctions - Elizabeth Gomes Signature Series (Sleeping Beauty)

This picture definitely doesn't do it justice. The colors on this pin are so vivid, and the detail is amazing.

I also agree with Carolyn, the Ariel Art Nouveau pin is the most beautiful one in the group.

That is the one I would have picked. 🙂

Pin 30949: Disney Auctions (P.I.N.S.) - Princess Profile (Aurora)
Can we just talk about how fantastically amazing Aurora's hair is for a moment. There are a lor of (new) pins that just mess up her hair! They make it look stringy and just ugly. This pin is just gorgeous! And I am proud to have it in my collection. :3

Pin 52057: Storybook Initial - Jasmine
For how small this little piece of metal is, they packed A LOT of beautiful details into it! The colors are fabulous, and overall the composition just makes me want to stare at it all day. Our of the series, this one is my favorite, and happy to have it in my collection.

Pin 39790: DLRP - Princess Sparkle Heart (Aurora) Framed Jumbo
So, this image does NOT do this pin justice! I had the wonderful chance to see it in someone's trading book once (I didn't have anything they wanted! D🙂 and was floored by it's beauty. It's big, it's Aurora, it sparkles, and it's amazing; what else is there to say? I need this pin in my life.

Ah, so I have an obsession with Princess hair. :3

Hahaha, you're so right! That's literally one of the reasons Aurora is my favorite princess! Her hair is PERFECT! You're not alone in this obsession...

I could not just choose 3, so I chose 5. I couldn't put them in the order of which ones I thought were the most beautiful either, so they are just in PinPics order. Here they are:
Pin 27856: Disney Auctions - Masterpiece Series #2 (White Rabbit Persistence)
I LOVE Salvador Dali and have been to the museum in Tampa several times. I think he is an amazing artist, so seeing one of his paintings with one of my favorite characters in it just blows my mind. I just think it is absolutely stunning. The pin captures the painting as perfectly as possible.
Pin 27870: WDW - This is Love - Sleeping Beauty Forest
I just think this pin is beautiful. The colors all around them while they are wearing such basics makes them stand out.
Pin 37501: Disney Auctions (P.I.N.S.) - Belle & Beast with Rose
You have to see this pin in person to really see how beautiful it is. I think it is so gorgeous.
Pin 43996: Disney Auctions - Tinker Bell Day of Beauty (Bubble Bath)
Everything about this pin is just so petite and pretty. I have actually worn it out with a basic black dress before and gotten LOTS of compliments.
Pin 44712: Disney Auctions - Tinker Bell Reading (Jumbo)
This concept art is absolutely nowhere near as amazing as the pin is in real life. It is one of the shiniest I have ever seen with lots of glitter. It is fantastic.

All of the Gomes pins are gorgeous so they don't count... lol.

One of the pins that I saw online that doesn't do it justice until you see it in person is:

Pin 15343 The Transformation of Master Gracey

Pin 53660 Friday the 13th Haunted Mansion Jumbo

Pin 55679 DLR Pinbassador Inspirations 2007 The Haunted Mansion

Hahaha, you're so right! That's literally one of the reasons Aurora is my favorite princess! Her hair is PERFECT! You're not alone in this obsession...
Yes! I am glad I am not alone! I seriously sit and dream about their hair, and how I wish mine would do that. . . and then I realize they aren't real. LOL

Pin 27870: WDW - This is Love - Sleeping Beauty Forest
I just think this pin is beautiful. The colors all around them while they are wearing such basics makes them stand out.
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this pin in person, but I can only imagine how beautiful it is in person.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this pin in person, but I can only imagine how beautiful it is in person.

It always reminded me of our engagement photo(even though we're on the wrong sides), which was taken 2 years before I ever discovered the wonders of pins:

There are 3 pins that I an think of that I see as being beautiful:

There are no photos that can ever do this pin justice. It's such a beautiful pin, the detail on it is stunning, the gold frogs on her dress are very beautiful. I' not really a bug fan of P&F pins with Tiana on her own, but this pin is amazing.

This is another pin that has to be seen in real life. I love sparkles and making the letters sparkle really makes it stand out. I'm not a huge fan of pink usually, but I love the colour and also the shape of this pin - the curves of it. Hard to describe really.

I'm a hige fan of super jumbo pins. The detail is fantastic on this pin. I love the colours and overall design.

I have to admit all of these pins are in my collection and are favourites from my collection, but I genuinely find them to be beautiful.

These would be by three (ok....nine....but whatever! 🙂 ):

I absolutely LOVE this set. Each pin is just so beautiful! Especially Belle and Ariel!

This pin is just awesome in person. It's huge!

I also agree on this one:

And then this one becasue I just had to get Stitch in there somewhere! He is my absolute favorite but due to his naughty nature it is difficult for him to break into the "beautiful" category! This pin is just so detailed it is amazing.

I have that pin, and it is very beautiful but on the small side. I thought about listing it as one of the three most beautiful but couldn't make up my mind so I left it out.

Every day when I wake up, I walk over to a little box on my bureau open it up and look at this pin.

As a Donald collector it is one of the most beautiful pins I own.

I can't pick just three...so I chose 33 (if I am counting all 10 Designer Princesses)...LOL...but these are the prettiest pins I have seen in person 🙂:

And in my opinion...the prettiest pin of all time would be one of these:

-I don't have this one, but I have seen pictures of it, and it looks gorgeous. 🙂

Bea ready for a LONG LIST!!

Just going by pins I own or have seen in person I would say these -

I adore the Dumbo and Jiminy ones here -

and as a set I think this is really beautiful!

As for Framed sets this is my all time favorite. I just can't tell you how beautiful this set is!

and some I don't have my own pics of but that are really amazing in person!

There are many others that I know should be on this list but since I have not seen them in person before I won't add them. lol

I really haven't seen very many pins in person! 🙂 But the ones in my collection that I just can't stop looking at and cooing over... (forgive me for being too lazy to go upstairs and take photos...)

I can't get over how gorgeous these are in person. I *LONG* for the rest of this set. It's not just that I'm an Alice fan (though that helps)... the color, and the detail, and the absolutely perfect shine... the pinpics photos WAYYY do not do these justice.

This one also is just flawless. The background shimmers, and the perfect shape of Diablo's wing just kills me.

I know this little guy isn't much, but he was one of the first pins I ever traded for myself, and there's something about the design that I just could not stop looking at. I liked it so much I bought a hoodie and yoga pants with this design on, and I even tried to wear it to events on my lapel, but after it fell off twice I stopped (I hadn't heard about locking backs then. I should get some.) By my sorting system it should be on my plain board with all the other Mickey head icons, but I'm just too in love with the little guy, so it's on my pumpkin-glass-slipper board with the other fairy tale pins.

Love these types of threads, but man, it's tough to pick:

These are the ones that sprang to mind first- I tried to go with ones that just gave me a gut reaction the first time I saw them:

But I like many of the ones mentioned so far, too!
