DPF 10th Anniversary Giveaway #1

Welcome to the 1st of the wonderful DPF's Anniversary Giveaways! Let's celebrate 10 years of being the best pin community on the net.

The Rules to enter are simple.
1. Must be a member of the DPF
2. Must be willing to send me your address to ship the prize to you

The game is as follows.

You enter by nominating a user here who has somehow impacted your pin journey and/or the community here. You can only nominate ONE user. By nominating a user, you are entered into the prize giveaway. There is a separate giveaway for the nominated members. I have ten prizes(one for each year) and there will be 10 nominated winners. Only the big prize counts towards winning one of the giveaways; being nominated and winning will not affect your chances of being able to win a prize in a later giveaway.

The game will end at 8PM PST on Wednesday July 1st. One of the moderators will run a randomizer for both sets of prizes.

Does this mean that once you enter one game . . . if you win, you will not be able to participate in the games coming through the Autumn?

I think you can only win once but let’s wait for a mod to clear it up. I think it was posted in the sign ups thread for giveaway prizes but I am unsure. @starry_solo

Just wondering! I didn't see the whole thread before. In that case, can you "play" not for a prize? That way you could play any games, but then pick which prizes you wanted to try for, depending on if they were something that you would like? Or just wait and only play games until you win one? Just wondering! I love to play them, but if you can only play until you win, then I guess I'd have to consider what I wanted to participate in! Just wondering!

I had actually asked about it on the original main thread. My understanding is that you can play any/all games you want, but you can only win one (main) prize. Once you win one, you are not eligible to win another. So yeah, you probably want to be careful with which game(s) you enter. But without knowing what future prizes will be, it's hard to judge. Personally, I've come to the decision that A) you can't go wrong with a free pin, B) you never know if (let alone when) you might win, and C) "a bird in the hand..." so I will probably just enter everything. It's all an awesome and generous celebration!

Yup, it's in the main thread. You can only win once. You can enter how many ever times you want to, but only win once. So if you win early, you can always enter future games, but you're disqualified from winning

ONLY ONE????? lol, I know why, but I agree with others: there are so many kind and generous people in this forum! I will nominate Carissa/Romancing_Train (but I don't see recent posts from her, anyone hear from her lately?). At my first gathering, one of Docfish's annual get-togethers at the Marie Callenders by Disneyland, I was a baby pin-trader with two generic lanyards holding all the pins I owned. She met me, realized I was brand new, and said something about how I needed more pins to trade with...then opened up her pin bag and proceeded to pull several pins out and hand them over to me. Just gave them to me so I would have traders! She's always been so sweet, and I have made other great trades with her since.

Corey has always been amazingly supportive and helpful through this whole journey I've had becoming a pin collector, starting off with two meager pins, to having my still small, but growing collection. He's been through my many rants about how unfair exchange has been, and offered advice when I needed it. Thank you @Tokaji for being an awesome friend!
