I guess by now you could tell how my story ends. I am disappointed and frustrated. I feel like a little kid who wants to bang her heels and cry. Not good, I know.

Yes, I was there and I had volunteered to get many pins for my many pin friends. Especially CA folks, I wanted to make you guys happy, because pin-friends at the other coast have helped me *so much* to get pretty pretty pins.

Starting on the day we arrived in WDW I started asking everyone. I only got the run around and every CM mentioned "the very specal fireworks". They either were genuinely clueless or were instructed not to tell anything, but think they were clueless themselves. I have to add that the CM attitude and helpfulness was seriously down this year in comparison to my past visits.

I did not have internet access, but Katherine (katpogo) kept me in the loop - thank you for that :) When I got her text message, we were in princess greeting line during the Mickey's Halloween Party. My blood froze about the wrist band thingy. There was no way I could do that with a 6 yr old and a very tired, sleep deprived hubby. Then I realized resort shuttles would not be running that early and gave up.

By the time 10/01 rolled in, we were in WDW for an entire week. Opening and closing the parks wore me down, my little one passing her cold to me did not help at all  I tried 3 times to get into stand-by line, every time a clueless yet somewhat rude CM told me that the line was closed and it would not be opened. I was always told that the pins were about to be sold out any minute.

The high point of 10/01 for me, was to meet other fellow DPF members. It was so great to see faces behind the names, we were a happy & excited bunch. I so badly wish that I could stay longer and go to the Diamond Horseshoe with you guys. Instead, I went to Boma to have our "last supper" of the vacation with daughter & hubby.

So, I came home empty handed. I have to unpack our bags and get groceries, but all I want to do is cry and hunt on Ebay for 40th annversary pins. Seeing the prices on Ebay makes me want to cry :(

I am so very very sorry to disappoint you guys, I really wanted to get your pins and blew this whole thing up in my face.

For what it's worth, I will share the pic my hubby took from our meeting. I know Heather already posted one, but that was in the other thread. So, I will post mine here too. You can see our big smiles. I was so happy to see so many people actually come & meet. Most of you are already in the area, but for me, it was a real treat to be able to meet you. THANK YOU for coming :)

Some people had asked for other Halloween and MNSSHP pins, those I managed to get. Give me few days to unwind and I will pm you guys.

So sorry to hear about the trouble you went through Selen, and the disappointment of not getting the pins you were hoping to :( It sounds like you did everything you could to try to help- i have only been to the parks for two releases (vinyl related) and I was thoroughly disappointed in the lack of help we faced from some cms as well. If it's that Disney really leaves them clueless, then it's high time Disney clues them in so people know where to find their pins!

So sorry again and hope you were able to have fun on your vacation despite this and all the best in finding the 40th pins you were after!!

Ha, I am the one in blue. Merryweather, blue is my fave color. Although the shade is not a good match to Merry's. I updated the first posting with names and screen ids, if I made a mistake pls pm me for corrections.

I think they still have some left in MK. I had someone go looking for me this morning. She just got back to me and she was able to get everything except the Tink pin.

Selen,

First off - it was great to meet you and your daughter. Secondly, I'm glad you were able to find the pins today :) Be thankful you lucked out on the hours of waiting in line for them lol (Gotta love rookie mistakes in this case. Between getting there by 730 and then having to wait multiple hours in line, we learned our lesson this time!) My husband and I ran into the same frustration as you with regards to information from CM's. It was interesting to us that several CM's offered myself or my hubby a job since we knew more about the release/events that day than they did!

It was do nice to meet everyone. I wish I had known what you needed. I was giving money to total strangers to be sure I got the frame. But the highlight of my day was getting to meet all of you guys. It was fun and it was nice to have faces with the names. If I can do anything to help out let me know. I have several of the Hitchiking Ghosts POM pins if you need any.

Oh, Selen. I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences with the pin release! And I'm sorry you and your daughter weren't feeling well during what should have been a very happy time. Did you get to have any fun at all earlier in the week?

I hope you will be able to turn this post into a letter, to tell Disney your story!

We Had an Amazing time! even with the maddness lol, Heck it all makes for a memorable moment! I for one Accept it and think about the new people we got to meet in line and the DPF Meet and Greet was awesome!!! Now I have faces to put with names! I wish everyone would post an actual picture of themselves on the profile page <3 <3 <3

Laz, I am trying to figure out how to do just this and failing. Even with the advanced profile thing I can't figure out how to replace the blob person with an actual picture.

Pam, thanks for concern and kind wishes. Yes, we had an AMAZNG time despite the little hick-ups. We are used to at least one of us almost always getting sick at all vacations, it is Murphy's rule ;)

I will surely write Disney a letter. It was not just the 40th anniversary pin event, but a lot of other things seemed to have changed since my last visit to WDW which was only 9 months ago actually. CMs did not know the answers to almost anything - which is ok if they are new or intern students etc. BUT they also did not try to contact a manager, make a call, check the computer etc. to find those answers.

I asked in Guest Services where and what time Scoop would be. The answer I got was: "I am not sure, I have not seen him in a while and I can not find his schedule. You should keep looking for him on Main Street" HUH ???? How does that help me?

Funny things is that the same day, only few minutes later I saw Scoop riding the trolley on the circle in front of the castle. He was scheduled to appear on that lucky day :)

I've never seen Scoop :/ I Would Love to though!!! :D Congratz!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Laz, I asked Scoop himself last week. He told me he is there in the mornings on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays. When I saw him, he was riding the trolley on the circle where the Partners Statue is. He is part of the opening festivities on Main Street. I met him on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Yet, last year I have seen him performing with Dapper Dans early December. He had a tambourine (?) or something like that in his hand. He was not singing.

I also read somewhere that he shows up for the actual PTN at Contemporary, but he is not in costume. I think simbanino would know more about that.

I would have gone to the pin meet but after lunch I could keep the eyes open any more went back to POP and crashed til about 5 and then went back for the fireworks and got caught in the madness of leaving thank goodness for the backstage way out!!

Margaret it was great meeting you when I was with you Sandy and Susan on Sat!! thanks for letting me borrow the list so i could write down my exact wants
