So java decided it needed to be updated and now I can't get into chat. I am using windows and I have tried IE, chrome and firefox and can't get on using any of them.

Any help?

David

Firefox and Chrome have put a stop to downloading Java at all for the time being due to a possible security problem. IE is the only one that works now.

Thank you for the info, but I can't get IE to work either. Stupid java!!!!!!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

What is the cc cleaner?
I think it's what used to be known as Crap Cleaner, cleans files etc on computer.

I'm having the blocked plug in issue as well, I'm on Safari, it seems to happen every time Java needs updating.
I've followed my settings to make sure Java is enabled, still nada this is why I prefer Flash

I downloaded latest version 7 on friday, went to Java Control Panel Update today and it said I need to get "Java 7 Update 13" and did it from there, make sure you check for updates.

It didn't work for me after reopened my browser, I restarted my computer then tried it again, messing about a bit and it worked!

I have downloaded the latest version. The computer has been shut off since so the only thing I haven't done is "mess about a bit", can you tell me what you did and what navigator are you using please?

I'm not on windows nor use the other browsers (IE, Firefox. Chrome)

Make sure the you have the latest version available in Cicada's link but make sure it fits your system requirements. I don't know if for Windows you have to uninstall first then reinstall?

I ran the update through my system Java control panel, I have it set to check for updates so was able to install it manually from there.
Hopefully it will work for you now :) Make sure you check your settings on your computer.

Messing about: After I restarted I wanted to check chat would pick up the changes, first I went into my browser preferences and unchecked the 'enable java,' went to chat, java needed so far so good. Switched back to forum and went back to enable java again, it didn't seem to work properly I got error, went back into java control panel (through my system) security tab and realised I had set it to 'very high' earlier. Changed this to recommended 'high' after I closed my browser, so I reopened browser went to chat and got the prompt asking me if I wanted to run the application. It worked, but for how long... it'll probably block it again soon.

Don't think it likes the security here

i do still get the message that it is "out of date", but hitting "run anyway..." in chrome still works.

I tried to download the newest version and got nothing. I even tried to download and run the older version and nothing. I guess I am not supposed to be in chat.

Stupid java!!!

I use chrome as its the fastest browser for my netbook. I have a popup that Java needs updated which I have already updated to the lastest firmware, so clicking run anyway let it go straight to chat. The only peculiar thing thats wierd is the normal route at the top of the screen doesn't allow copy/paste links but following link I have saved on my bookmarks does.

Download whatever java you want. The go to tools on firefox and go to add-ons. Your Java maybe updated but it may also be disabled EVEN IF IT WORKS FOR OTHER THINGS. Like youtube may still work.

May sure you enable it. Make sure ANYTHING JAVA is enabled.

Next open chat

It may still pop up like this. If you see this look at the top and see if you find the red or yellow lego block. Click it. Select ALLOW ALL or ACTIVATE ALL PLUG-INS

you may have to do this everytime you enter chat. (Step 2 not 1 unless your fire wall disables it each time!)

Should work now.

I wished it worked. I checked to be sure it is enabled and it is. I uninstalled java and reinstalled it and nothing. Is there any chance my Norton is somehow blocking something?

ACTUALLY:

DELETE ALL OF YOUR JAVA.

Alot of times when Java updates it just leaves the others in the computer. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program

Have the list change to the names in alphabetical order and see how many Javas you have. My recommendation is to delete ALL of them and re download THIS Java Plug-in:

Or Google "Java 7 update 9" that's what I'm running :3

This may be a stupid question, but did you make sure Norton (or your internet options) aren't set to block pop ups? Because I also had to update Java on my computer last week and after I did that, whenever I want to get into the chat room I get a pop up asking if I want to run the program. If I click run, it opens the chat and I'm good to go. But if you have something blocking that pop up after you've updated your Java, that may be why you still can't get in.
