DPF 10th Anniversary Giveaway #8 - RESULTS POSTED; POST #4
Welcome to the 8th week of DPF 10th anniversary giveaways. I’ve been a member here for 7½ years, and it’s been an amazing time.
Here are the rules to follow:
1. You must be a member of DPF, so don’t be a guest and join!
2. You must give me your name and shipping address.
3. If you don’t want to be included in the prize pool, make sure to mention it.
4. You have until Monday, August 17, 2020, 8:00pm Disneyland time, to make a post in this thread, if you want to enter for a prize.
Since it’s the 10th anniversary, there are 10 prizes. Okay, not really, because there are more than 10!
US shipping is free. International shipping is also free; however, I will be sending through First-Class Package International Service (which may take weeks or longer), and tracking is only available to Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, and Switzerland. If rules forbid me sending out a package with no tracking, then sorry to those who don’t live in those countries.
On to the game! I love Disney facts and trivia. I would like you to share your favorite or any interesting Disney fact or piece of trivia.
I have 2+ to share.
#1 – My company sent me to the Grand Floridian in WDW for a conference last year (lucky me). Although I have visited GF a number of times, this particular trip allowed me time to explore the hotel more thoroughly. I love the Commander Porter’s shop that’s on the 2nd floor and geared toward guys. There was a sign around there that had Mickey Mouse and “est. 1929”. But wait, wasn’t Mickey Mouse born in 1928? Yes, that is true, but because this was a store, 1929 is the earliest instance of an item featuring Mickey Mouse was created, so the first merch of Mickey was only in the next year. I talked for so long with the CM at that store. Too bad the store is now permanently closed (I think).
#2a #2b #2c – I love it when CMs you’re trying to trade with ask if you want to answer trivia. Yes, all the time. I mentioned I love the movie Aladdin, and the question posed to me was this: In the song, Prince Ali, how many purple peacocks does he own? I was singing the song, but just couldn’t arrive at the lyric or the number.
The CM gave me another question: name at least 5 “other names/descriptions” attributed to Aladdin (the character). I said:
Wow that was harder than I thought, but I got to pin trade; she would have traded anyways. Well I can do a 2nd pin, so here’s the last question: Name a movie under the Disney umbrella that is 1 word and has all 5 vowels in it. That was tough, and she had to give me clues, but the answer is:
There may be other answers, but this is the answer she gave.
